On behalf of UNICEF Turkey Office, New York Headquarter, Regional Office and Brussels Office, we would like to express our gratitude for your generous effort for the organization of the workshop on Parliament's Role in Promoting and Protecting Children's Rights" at the Parliament between the dates of 30 September- 2october 2010. All our specialists and German MP were pleased about the rich discussions and the overall organization of the workshop.
We would like to congratulate you and members of the Child Rights Monitoring Committee Ms. Nevin Gaye Erbatur, Ms. Senol Bal, Ms. Halide Incekara, Mr, Necdet Uniivar and Mr. Avni Erdemir for the fruitful meeting which produced concrete results including the review of the Committee's structure with its sustainability, discussions on possible action plan and priorities and following up the developments based on new constitution such as child ombudsman.
Turkish Grand National Assembly Child Rights Monitoring Committee model would be a good example for other countries as well as for the European Parliament. As mentioned by Ms. Margareth Wachenfeld, Senior Policy Advisor in UNICEF Brussels Office during the meeting, this model can be presented to European Parliamentarians.
I hope that our cooperation will continue during the next programme cycle with new initiatives and projects. Please be informed that UNICEF Turkey Office will be ready to provide technical support to the Committee at all level.
