The 2nd International Symposium on Children at Risk and in Need of Protection

Special Representative to the UN Secretary General on Violence against children, Marta Santos PAIS,  mentioned that Rights Monitoring Committee of TGNA is the unique model in the world …

“The 2nd International Symposium on Children at Risk and in Need of Protection “  has took place on 24-26 April 2010 in Ankara (TGNA- Turkish Grand National Assembly)  and under the auspices of Speaker of Turkish Grand National Assembly Mr. Mehmet Ali SAHIN.

Prof. Dr. Cevdet ERDÖL, Deputy of Trabzon President of the Child Rights Monitoring Committee of TGNA mentioned about laws made and inquiry commissions established in TGNA about children in his speech.

Halide İNCEKARA, Deputy of İstanbul member of Child Rights Monitoring Committee of TGNA and president of Missing Children Inquiry Commission of TGNA made a speech in Symposium and mentioned that every child no matter his/her family’s economical situation is under risk.

Special Representative to the UN Secretary General on Violence against children, Marta Santos PAIS who participated in the Symposium, also visited Child Rights Monitoring Committee of TGNA and has met the members of the committee.

Mrs. PAIS told that, Child Rights Monitoring Committee of TGNA is the only and the first model among the Parliament’s in the world. The activities made by this Committee will be a unique model  to follow for the other Parliament’s.

Mrs. PAIS also replied the questions about the methods applied in other countries against “Violence in Schools”
